The Chemicals Segment consists of the Cresol Derivatives Business and the Biphenol Business. Cresol derivatives are used for a wide variety of purposes including pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, electronic chemicals and antioxidants. The Biphenol Business involves biphenol, a material for liquid crystal polymers and polyphenylsulfone, and bisphenol F, a material for low-viscosity epoxy resins.
Cresol Derivatives Business (Chemicals Dept.)
The Cresol Derivatives Business handles a diversity of cresol derivatives produced by the separation and refinement of meta para cresol for use in vitamin E materials for animal feeds, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, electronic chemicals and phenol antioxidants, among others. Honshu Chemical offers an extensive product lineup to meet widely varied customer needs.
Biphenol Business (Biphenol Dept.)
Our Biphenol Business manufactures and sells biphenol, a material for liquid crystal polymers (LCP) high in heat resistance and precision moldability that are used in telecommunications and electronics components, as well as for polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) used in medical and other areas. The business also handles bisphenol F (Bis-F), a material for low-viscosity epoxy resins used in paints, electronic chemicals, civil engineering, construction materials and adhesive agents.
